About this Content
Aims
To increase the proportion of STEMI patients with door-to-balloon (DTB) time ≤90 minutes from 67.6% to 90%.
Background
The international standard for DTB is ≤90 minutes, but in 2018 only 67.6% of STEMI patients achieved this at NTFGH.
Methods
Introduced data entry forms, stretch goals, and regular joint reviews; standardized handovers and implemented pit stop exercises.
Results
Achieved DTB time ≤90 minutes for 88.3% of patients by mid-2019.
Conclusion
Collaborative efforts and structured interventions improved DTB times significantly, benefiting patient outcomes.
Lessons Learnt
Multidisciplinary teamwork and clear communication are crucial for achieving systemic improvements.
Additional Information
Recognized as a model for improving emergency cardiac care workflows.
