Improve patient education on inpatient safety during admission.
Background
43.6% of patients did not understand patient education topics (e.g., pain management, fall prevention) due to barriers like language and unclear materials.
Methods
Developed an inpatient education video, trained staff, and used NHCS Infopedia for accessibility.
Results
Improved patient understanding to 86.3%; reduced manpower hours by 1,886 annually, saving $75,440.
Conclusion
Education videos streamlined processes and enhanced patient empowerment in care decisions.
Lessons Learnt
Videos are more effective than printed materials for overcoming language barriers and improving patient safety knowledge.
