Aims
To increase appropriate referrals for CEUS from 33% to >75% in 6 months.
Background
Inappropriate referrals led to wasted time and resources, including longer patient wait times.
Methods
Implemented PDSA cycles targeting knowledge gaps across radiologists, urologists, and sonographers, with education and workflow revisions.
Results
Appropriate CEUS referrals increased to 80%. Cost avoidance achieved: $16,800 annually.
Conclusion
CEUS referral accuracy improved, optimizing resources and reducing wait times.
Lessons Learnt
Education and workflow changes are critical for sustaining referral accuracy.
