Aims
Reduce incidence and prevalence rates of pneumonia.
Background
Pneumonia is a leading cause of morbidity in elderly residents. Early identification and prevention are crucial to reduce incidence in high-risk nursing home populations.
Methods
Care bundles for high-risk residents, interactive training for staff, and systematic risk factor identification.
Results
Pneumonia rate reduced by 73% in pilot wards and 16% in spread wards over 6 months.
Conclusion
Trust and proactive collaboration with staff and residents significantly reduce pneumonia cases and improve healthcare delivery.
Lessons Learnt
Engagement of staff and residents, effective training, and routine feedback are essential for successful implementation.
