Aims
To improve hand hygiene compliance through engaging activities at a senior care facility
Background
Lack of compliance with hand hygiene guidelines among staff and clients was identified. This project aimed to address this through fun activities.
Methods
Interactive activities, such as games, role-play, and songs, were used to promote hand hygiene compliance among staff and clients.
Results
Compliance improved by 45%, and hand hygiene became part of the daily routine at the facility. Both staff and clients actively participated.
Conclusion
Conclusion: The project successfully improved hand hygiene practices and can be adapted to other healthcare settings.
Lessons Learnt
Lessons included that using fun and interactive methods significantly enhances engagement and retention of information.
