Aims
Improve ED RNs’ confidence in administering drugs during pediatric resuscitation.
Background
Acute pediatric resuscitations can be stressful due to limited exposure and inadequate proficiency among RNs.
Methods
Pre-survey (115 RNs), multiple sharing sessions with real case scenarios, quizzes, and medication chart reviews.
Results
Post-survey showed improved competency and confidence; 73% of nurses rated simulation as the most effective learning method.
Conclusion
Structured training and simulations improved confidence and proficiency in pediatric drug administration.
Lessons Learnt
Familiarization with drug preparation reduces stress, enabling effective coordination during resuscitation.
