Aims
Our aim is to increase staff awareness to reduce energy consumption and cut paper usage by 20% within next year (2024), supporting the hospital’s Green Plan for a sustainable environment.
Background
Issues include slow turnover in returning property bags, high load of property bags cramped in cabinets, and ED running out of storage space.
Methods
Define the problem, set aims, establish measures, analyze the problem, select probable solutions for testing, and implement changes.
Results
Targets were met with excellent results, including a reduction in the average number of property bags kept at ED.
Conclusion
Revised patient criteria led to workflow changes, resulting in better work productivity and effectiveness.
Lessons Learnt
Everyone can play a part for a Green sustainable environment by doing minor behavior change in their daily activities.
