Aims
To foster a workplace culture that promotes healthier habits and empowers employees to make positive lifestyle changes.
Background
The initiative addresses the long-term harm of prevalent lifestyle habits and aims to create a health-promoting environment within companies.
Methods
The program included monthly events, bite-sized gamified activities, and behavioural change models. A 2 x 2 Repeated Measure ANOVA statistical test was conducted for the pre and post-programme survey
Results
Positive outcomes included a reduction in sugar-sweetened beverage consumption, unhealthy meal consumption, high sugar snack intake, sedentary hours, and an increase in vegetable intake, step count, MVPA, and stair walking.
Conclusion
The intervention successfully built a community of health-seeking employees with healthier behaviors.
Lessons Learnt
Leadership engagement and role modeling are crucial for showcasing the feasibility and impact of behavior change challenges.
