Aims
Reduce falls by 50% and implement fall prevention program across all wards of Econ YCK.
Background
In 2020, there were 17 falls at Econ YCK, causing injuries and other adverse outcomes.
Methods
Developed a falls care bundle, conducted staff training (6 topics), and reviewed work processes.
Results
Fall rates reduced from 0.45 (2020) to 0.17 (2022), achieving a 62% reduction.
Conclusion
Program effectively reduced falls and improved patient safety through targeted interventions.
Lessons Learnt
Structured staff training, fall care bundles, and equipment maintenance are critical for sustainability.
