Aims
Develop an experiential learning program to enhance understanding of nursing and attract students to the profession.
Background
Traditional didactic methods failed to engage students or provide real-life application of nursing knowledge.
Methods
Hands-on simulations linked to theoretical learning; scenarios such as asthma management and medication administration to integrate clinical reasoning.
Results
Trained 214 participants; feedback highlighted effective learning via hands-on activities and reflection; 30 participants entered nursing.
Conclusion
Experiential learning provides an effective pathway to understanding nursing roles and responsibilities.
Lessons Learnt
Immersion into clinical areas enhances understanding of the nursing profession; mentorship fosters long-term interest.
