Aims

Background
Telemedicine can address the limited access to wound care specialists in primary care settings.
Methods
Used SilhouetteCentral™ and SilhouetteStar™ digital wound systems for remote wound consultations.
Results
Telewound consultations reduced median clinic costs by 63% compared to conventional care, while patient satisfaction remained high.
Conclusion
Wound teleconsultation is feasible, improves continuity of care, and reduces costs for both patients and the healthcare system.
Lessons Learnt
Telemedicine enhances access to care and reduces costs but requires further research on uptake barriers.
