Background
COVID-19's rapid global spread exposed gaps in existing outbreak management plans, necessitating urgent updates to protect healthcare workers.
Methods
Adopted PDSA and Agile principles to refine screening processes, including digitalizing declaration forms and creating express lanes.
Results
Reduced manpower costs by ~$40,000 and improved patient/staff satisfaction with enhanced workflow and reduced wait times.
Conclusion
The project developed a scalable framework for outbreak management, improving SGH's readiness for future crises.
Lessons Learnt
Agile and iterative approaches are critical in adapting to unprecedented crises, focusing on continuous improvement.
