Aims

Evaluate therapists' perceptions on Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Essentials (AIRES) transdisciplinary care model.

Background

Transdisciplinary care improves patient care, reduces workload duplication, and enhances collaboration among professionals.

Methods

Mixed methods: Inter-professional Collaborative Competency Attainment Scale (ICCAS) and thematic analysis from focus group discussions.

Results

Significant improvements in ICCAS scores across communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care constructs. Positive themes identified: enhanced communication, holistic care delivery, reduced workload duplication.

Conclusion

Transdisciplinary training programs improve inter-professional collaboration, enhancing acute inpatient care.

Lessons Learnt

Engagement during focus groups is essential to identify areas of improvement in the program and prepare therapists better for transdisciplinary care.
