Rising workload at SGH's Pre-Admission Centre required innovative solutions to optimize patient flow.
Methods
Developed and validated ePASS system; stratified patients by risk for telephone screening (TPS) or in-person reviews.
Results
Achieved $35,549 in annual manpower savings and a 50% response rate; reduced unnecessary consultations significantly.
Conclusion
ePASS enables safe, cost-effective, and patient-centric pre-anaesthesia assessments.
Lessons Learnt
Simple, scalable systems using free platforms can effectively reduce workload and improve patient outcomes.
