Aims
To understand the effects of different conceptions on older adults’ support for COVID-19 vaccination.
Background
The uptake of COVID-19 vaccination among older adults is influenced by beliefs and trust in institutions.
Methods
Door-to-door survey conducted among 600 older adults using stratified random sampling between March-May 2022.
Results
Significant predictors for vaccination endorsement included trust in government, belief in vaccine safety, and its importance for self.
Conclusion
Positive beliefs in vaccine safety and government trust are crucial for vaccination acceptance.
Lessons Learnt
Challenges included engaging unvaccinated individuals and frail older adults; online surveys could increase participation.
