Aims
To investigate the effectiveness of an innovative exercise video for post-TKR rehabilitation
Background
Patients after TKR require extensive rehabilitation. The goal was to improve exercise adherence and enhance recovery using exercise videos.
Methods
Patients were given access to guided exercise videos on a tablet. These included 6 bed exercises with auditory cues and safety advice, in addition to regular physiotherapy treatment.
Results
Patients using the videos showed a 7-degree increase in knee range of motion and greater confidence in performing exercises. Video-based exercises improved patient motivation and adherence.
Conclusion
| The intervention led to better recovery outcomes and patient satisfaction. However, future improvements include addressing technological barriers and expanding video availability.
Lessons Learnt
Video-based exercises are an effective tool for rehabilitation, particularly for patients who may struggle with traditional methods.
