Aims
Test if consolidating sectional discussions into a 2-week period increases efficiency without impacting outcomes.
Background
Traditional sectional discussions were time-intensive and repeated multiple times across trainee groups, increasing trainer fatigue.
Methods
Consolidated introductory sectional discussions into a 2-week period at the start of pre-registration training; introduced effective learning techniques.
Results
Reduced manhours from 246 to 46 hours; no increase in trainee burnout; no significant difference in topic assessment scores.
Conclusion
Compact discussions optimized trainer time while maintaining learning quality and efficiency.
Lessons Learnt
Pre-seeding ideas with stakeholders and addressing trainers' concerns ensured buy-in; compact learning promotes efficiency.
