Aims
Reduce hospital waiting time, digitize financial counselling processes, and improve patient experience.
Background
Elective patients previously had multiple physical interactions before admission, increasing hospital time and inefficiencies. Financial counselling (FC) required in-person visits.
Methods
Introduced virtual financial counselling via Zoom, allowing patients to complete FC remotely and store documents digitally.
Results
Reduced patient hospital dwelling time, saved $21,000 annually on storage, cut counter transaction time by 16%, and improved patient experience.
Conclusion
The successful pilot at KKH will be expanded beyond Admissions to enhance other patient services.
Lessons Learnt
Digitalization enhances efficiency and patient satisfaction while reducing operational costs.
