Aims
Implement digital prescriptions across SGH outpatient clinics to improve medication safety and efficiency.
Background
Paper prescriptions were inefficient and prone to safety risks, such as manual errors and misplaced documents.
Methods
Conducted workflow analysis, identified gaps, engaged stakeholders, and piloted the digital Rx system.
Results
Reduced paper prescriptions from 9.3% to 5.3%; saved 26,860 man-hours annually; enhanced patient safety and experience.
Conclusion
Digital prescriptions significantly improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance patient experiences across outpatient clinics.
Lessons Learnt
Digital transformation requires comprehensive stakeholder engagement and iterative process improvements.
