Aims
Test feasibility and acceptability of a conversational agent promoting healthy lifestyle changes for Singapore’s general population.
Background
Conversational agents are promising tools for facilitating healthy lifestyle behaviors, addressing diet, exercise, and stress.
Methods
Single-arm feasibility study; recruited 75 participants via Facebook, with a 4-week intervention using Facebook Messenger.
Results
Retention rate was 93% (56/60). Participants found the agent engaging (50% interacted in all sessions). Usability and satisfaction were high.
Conclusion
Conversational agents are feasible and acceptable, with potential for scaling to larger trials in promoting healthy behaviors.
Lessons Learnt
Longer recruitment timelines and integrating in-person components improve study outcomes.
