Aims
Improve efficiency, accessibility, and satisfaction of home care services for community-dwelling older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic using telehealth.
Background
COVID-19 pandemic impeded home care services; telehealth was adopted to provide effective care and minimize risk of infection.
Methods
Retrospective descriptive study involving video consultations and experience surveys among patients and nurses.
Results
Telehealth improved hospital utilization rates, reduced risk exposure, and enhanced patient satisfaction; 100% satisfaction reported by nurses and patients.
Conclusion
Merit Award at SHBC 2022 for Best Poster.
Lessons Learnt
Telehealth can be a sustainable mode of care delivery; further research required for integrating remote monitoring systems.
