Aims
To assess residents’ exam concerns pre-course and evaluate confidence/satisfaction post-course.
Background
COVID-19 restrictions disrupted MRCS Part B preparation and exams, leaving residents underprepared.
Methods
Developed and implemented an in-house MRCS crash course with faculty-led OSCE sessions and surveys.
Results
Improved residents’ confidence and satisfaction post-course; highlighted need for regular preparatory courses.
Conclusion
The preparatory course reduces stress, increases competency, and should be organized regularly.
Lessons Learnt
Collaborative courses mitigate knowledge gaps and stress, enhancing exam readiness for surgical residents.
