Explore core competencies for community health professionals and inform practices to transform community care.
Background
Shift in healthcare towards community-based management requires transdisciplinary competencies for effective care delivery.
Methods
Conducted focus groups and surveys; identified 57 sub-competencies, with 45 rated essential by 60% of respondents. Developed strategies for competency-building.
Results
Identified key competencies for community health professionals; top-rated learning approaches included communities of practice and cross-disciplinary case discussions.
Conclusion
Competencies identified will inform future curricula and support healthcare transition from hospital to community settings.
Lessons Learnt
Flexibility during challenges, such as transitioning focus groups online during the pandemic, is vital.
