Stimulate human senses using effective visuals to improve hand hygiene compliance.
Background
Traditional hand hygiene directives alone were insufficient; open communication was needed.
Methods
Visual cues such as A5 placards at patient bedsides and wobblers on handrub bottles introduced.
Results
Compliance improved in 16 of 20 wards; visual cues effectively boosted hand hygiene rates.
Conclusion
Visual reminders significantly improved hand hygiene compliance, complementing infection control strategies.
Lessons Learnt
Creative visuals are impactful, user-friendly, and support compliance when combined with verbal communication.
