Aims
The primary aim is to enhance healthcare workflows and patient outcomes by developing a generative AI chatbot, AskAngels, to streamline nurses' access to relevant hospital documents and form templates.
Background
Nurses face challenges in manually searching for online hospital documents and form templates, leading to delays and potential errors. Existing solutions are time-consuming and prone to errors.
Methods
The project involved collaboration between IT and nursing departments to develop the AI chatbot. User acceptance testing was conducted, and feedback was collected through surveys to refine the system.
Results
Post-implementation, 60% of users were extremely satisfied, and 88% reported improved efficiency. The system enhanced clinical decision-making and minimized delays in care delivery.
Conclusion
The AskAngels chatbot successfully improves nursing efficiency and patient outcomes by providing quick access to necessary documents and information.
Lessons Learnt
Engaging end-users at the project's inception proved valuable. Simple feedback mechanisms are essential for continuous improvement. Integration of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation system ensures reliable responses.
