Aims

Background
High 72h reattendance rates strained ED resources and indicated inadequate initial clinical management.
Methods
Conducted root cause analysis, implemented PDSA cycles, reminded clinicians of reattendance policy, and optimized EDTU bed usage.
Results
Reattendance rates dropped from 26.3% to below 23.8% for 3 consecutive months.
Conclusion
The project successfully reduced ED reattendance and inpatient conversion rates below target.
Lessons Learnt
Engagement, reminders, and utilizing alternative discharge options (e.g., EDTU) were crucial for improvement.
