Aims
Introduce multimodal sensory rehabilitation to enhance psychosocial outcomes in critical care patients.
Background
Psychosocial needs of critical care patients were overlooked, especially during COVID-19.
Methods
Introduced Snoezelen sensory tools, Oculus VR, and Tobii Dynavox for individualized therapy.
Results
Psychosocial factors improved: positive affect in sessions increased from 10.5% to 87.5%; reduced OT non-goal-directed time.
Conclusion
A scalable model for other wards to enhance psychosocial care.
Lessons Learnt
Multimodal tools reduce emotional distress, improve productivity, and enhance collaboration.
