1. CHI x SIT Innovation Challenge 2024
With the aim of tackling pressing sustainability challenges within healthcare industry, the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) jointly ran Innovation Challenge 2024, to select solutions that are immediately actionable, designed to be readily test-bedded, implemented and adopted by Singapore’s Public Healthcare Institutions.
Supported by National Youth Council (NYC) & Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), CHI x SIT Innovation Challenge 2024 gave rise to a total of 9 Semi-Finalists and 5 Finalists.

This month, let’s take a peek inside Singapore’s leading Community Care organisations that have demonstrated exemplary service and commitment in delivery quality care to our residents. With a focus on enhancing patient experience, quality of care and clinical productivity, we are proud to unveil our Top 3 Picks from the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) Community Care Excellence Awards 2023 list:
1. Equipped with offerings not typically associated with day care centres, such as hairdressing, therapeutic horticulture and a movie theatre, Oasis@Outram from HCA Hospice is redefining what it means to live meaningfully through a patient-centric and family-focused model of progressive care.
[Clinical Experience Improvement Gold Awardee at the Community Care Excellence Awards (CCEA) 2023 by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)]
2. Committed to reducing falls among elderly residents, Econ Sunnyville Nursing Home (Yio Chu Kang) implemented staff training, falls care bundle and work processes review in 2022, drastically reducing fall rates by 62% and ensuring quality care is delivered to its residents.

3. By consolidating defect reporting channels and developing analytics dashboards, this project by NTUC Health transformed from a reactive working method of managing defects in its nursing home operations, to a proactive maintenance workflow, effectively reducing defects reporting downtime and enabling time savings.
